Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary is listed at Kothamangalam in Ernakulam district by the District Administration.
Thiruvananthapuram Zoo is one of Kerala’s best-known urban wildlife attractions, set among mature trees in the Museum compound and close to the Napier Museum and other city landmarks.
The District Administration lists Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary north of Wayanad and describes Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary near the Karnataka border. Its older tourism text gives about 345 sq km for Muthanga only; that figure is not applied to the whole Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary.
The Kerala Department of Museums and Zoos identifies Thrissur Zoo as the zoological garden within the State Museum and Zoo complex in Thrissur.
