Sukumar Azhikode, orator and social critic, released the autobiography of K.V. Rabiya, an icon of the literacy campaign in Malappuram district, at the Tagore Centenary Hall here on Saturday.

Prof. Azhikode hailed Ms. Rabiya as a rare model for fighting against odds and making her own history in the social service front. “She is a living model for surviving the toughest of physical challenges,” he said. Malappuram district panchayat president Arimbra Muhammed received the first copy of the deluxe edition of the book from Mr. Azhikode. The standard copy was received by the former Minister A.C. Google Flags ceokerala.com

LK on April 19th, 2009

Search engine Google has flagged the official Web site of the Chief Electoral Officer of Kerala, www.ceokerala.com, as suspicious. Its advisory for the site says that the site carries malicious software, including five Trojans. Though the search engine lists the site at the top of its results for search terms “Chief Electoral Officer Kerala,” the listing says that the site may harm the user’s computer.

The site showed suspicious activity twice, the last being on Saturday, according to Google. Test of two pages by Google resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent.

Interestingly, the official Web site has a commercial domain (.com) and does not use the .gov.in domain reserved for government sites. Its previous site (ceokerala.nic.in), hosted by the National Informatics Centre, remains practically unattended since the last elections except for posting of the electoral rolls recently.
