Threatening email to Sonia Gandhi by Keralite

A youth, who has allegedly sent an e-mail threatening the life of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, is being questioned by police here.The mail was sent to Rashtrapathi Bhavan office about four days ago from an internet cafe at nearby Palarivattom, police sources said. The mail also stated that bombs would go off in Delhi, Kochi and two other places, they said. Initially the sources had said that the youth has sent a similar e-mail threat to President Pratiba Patil also, but later clarified that the mail only threatened the life of Gandhi and was sent to the Rashtrapathi Bhavan office.

The famous Lord Ayyappa temple at Sabrimala would be opened on October 27 evening for Chithira Attathirunal Festival. The temple would be closed on October 28 night after special poojas, an official release from Travancore Devaswmom Board said here today. It will reopen for the annual Mandala-Makaravillaku festival on November 15, the release said.

Kerala government today congratulated ISRO scientists for the successful launch of India’s first moon mission Chandrayaan-1. “It is an occasion of joy and pride for all in the state as the maiden moon-mission is a success,” Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told reporters after a cabinet meeting. It was also very happy to note that the PSLV rocket that carried the Chandrayaan mission was fabricated at Vikaram Sarabhai Space Centre here, Achuthanandan said.

Serial Actress was arrested for drunken driving yesterday. The police patrolling team stopped the WagonR car she was driving from Pazhavangadi near the Big Bazaar. The actress first refused to open the door but when the police team led by medical college circle inspector Suresh Kumar, who was on night duty, tried to break the glass, she opened it. The police recovered some liquor bottles, glasses and some eatables from the car. She was taken to the general hospital for medical examination. She was later released on bail.
