Milk price to go up in Kerala

Kerala’s ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) Monday decided to increase the price of government-supplied milk by Re.1. This is the fourth hike in the price of milk after the LDF government came to power two years ago.With this hike, the price of toned milk marketed through Milma (Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation) will touch Rs.20 per litre. Milma is the state’s largest milk marketing agency. The decision to hike the price was taken in an LDF meeting following the recommendation of the Milma directors’ board, demanding Rs.2 more per litre. ”Milma demanded the hike as the dairy farmers are facing problems due to rise in price of various inputs,” its chairman P.T. Gopalakurup told IANS.

Ingredients
3/4 cup rice flour
1/4 cup black urad dal flour
1/4 cup soya flour
1 teaspoon fruit salt
salt
1 cup water

Other Ingredients
1 teaspoon olive oil

Directions

• Mix all the three flours and salt with water in a mixing bowl to obtain a thin batter.
• Keep aside on the kitchen countertop for 30 minutes.
• When ready to prepare dosas, sprinkle the fruit salt on the batter. Mix gently.
• Heat a non-stick pan.
• Grease it lightly with oil.
• When it is hot, pour one quarter of the batter on the pan.
• Spread it out in a circular motion to make a thin dosa.
• Cook on one side, then pour a little oil along the edges so that it turns crisp.
• Fold over and serve.
• Repeat with the remaining batter to make 3 more dosas.
• Serve with low cal green chutney.

1 bunch fresh cilantro (remove hard stems at bottom of bunch and discard)
2 green chilies (or to taste)
2 garlic cloves
1/8 cup walnuts
1 1/2 tablespoons brown sugar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
salt

Directions

• Combine all ingredients in blender, and blend until smooth.
• Serve immedietly or let it chill for 30 mins for better taste.

Superstar Mohanlal will lead a team of film personalities on a month long European trip staging 10 shows.The show is being organised by the Parayil Group and has been named as ‘Mohanlal’s Daily Delight’. The other stars accompanying him include Mukesh, Jagadeesh, Vineeth, Swaraj Venjaramoodu, Jyothirmayi and Lakshmi Gopalswami. “There will be five stage shows in England and one each in other countries and it would be more music oriented and comedy,” said Mohanlal. The first show would be in Manchester on Oct 5 and the last one on Oct 26 in Germany.

It was decided by the government today to convert the State Electricity Board into a single company. A notification in this regard is expected to be issued soon.
